My name is Jessica

Below you will find, a few words about me

I have spent my life learning about, living in, and teaching others about the Arts and I love it!  I work in a job that allows me to spend my days thinking about and talking about the things I love- Music, Theater, and Art.  I work as the Director of Fine Arts at Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, Texas where I mentor other Arts teachers in an attempt to pass on what I’ve discovered about Arts education in my 30+ years in the profession.  I also work with amazing, gifted, courageous students who enrich my life and give me enormous joy.

I’ve always been a big believer in the importance of reflection, that we should take time to stop and think about where we are in life.  Most of the time, people don’t want to practice reflection because they fear they will be unsatisfied with what they have accomplished.  I, on the other hand, usually find great encouragement through the process of reflection because it helps me to focus on just that- the process.  My intention in starting this blog is to share thoughts, articles, and other’s posts about the artistic process and the importance of the Arts to us as a society and as human beings.
